Real Madrid won over Barcelona with Karim Benzema with his backheel goal at 13′ minute and then shortly in second half Toni Kroos freekick the control, accuracy, and deflection made that happen and Los Blancos went 2-0 clear until first half. And eventually won with a 2-1 score and now at top of the points table while having the same points as league leaders.

Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium where Real Madrid showed pure dominance over Barcelona’s side throughout the 1st half in El Clasico. Although, the 2nd half Barcelona side was dominant over Zidane boys. As Zidane has the next fixture as well upcoming in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield against Liverpool, as of after the first leg they are at power over the Red’s but yet Zidane wanted to give rest to the players he kept players on going by giving minutes to as many as possible he did substitutes at crucial times. He knew the job was done after the 1st half his side only has to defend now to stop Messia and his boys somehow and he kept that by making it possible with his tactics.

After the match now the setback came for Zidane, Lucas Vazquez’s injury, and he was replaced late in the first half and injury concern for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool on Wednesday. Adding to it duo is already out Ramos and Varane.

“If you are from Barcelona, you are very, very unhappy about two decisions from the referee,” Koeman said in comments reported by Marca.

“First, I want to say we did not play well in the first half, neither in defending or attacking. In the second half, we improved.

“I only ask that the officials get things right. It’s a penalty. And then they add four minutes when they have stopped the game for more… the penalty is very clear.

“I don’t know why we have VAR in Spain. Everyone has seen the incident… the way Martin falls, it has to be a foul. The referee may not see the play, but we have VAR for situations like this. It is better not to say more.”

Koeman said his players – who had surrounded Manzano at the time of the incident – shared his anger over the decision but insisted defeat did not need to be a fatal blow for their title hopes.

“I am optimistic,” he said. “We have shown that we fight. We are going to react and fight until the last game.”

“We have to enjoy what we’ve been doing. We got two very good results and it wasn’t easy,” Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said.

“Being in the lead won’t change anything for us. We have to keep working hard.”
