AFC Team Profile and Analysis: Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Team

4 Min Read

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the NFL’s more recent franchises, having entered as an expansion team in 1995 alongside the Carolina Panthers. The Jaguars moved from the AFC Central to the AFC South when the NFL restructured into its current divisional system. The Jacksonville Jaguars had an excellent beginning in the National Football League, as seen by their four-year run in the postseason (after their first season). In their first five years in the NFL, they won two division titles. Tony Boselli, the Jaguars’ first draft pick, is widely considered to be the franchise’s most outstanding player.

The Jaguars’ best seasons in the NFL coincided with the arrivals of quarterback Mark Brunell and wide receiver Jimmy Smith. The Jaguars use teal, black, and gold as primary colours. It was Wayne Weaver 1993 who first put the group together. In 2011, Shahid Khan, a Pakistani-American business entrepreneur, owned the Jaguars. Currently, the market value of the Jacksonville Jaguars is around $3.48 billion. Those in the AFC South division with the Jacksonville Jaguars—the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts—form the NFL’s most heated rivalry.
