Germany won its third Hockey World Cup 2023 title on Sunday at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar by defeating Belgium in penalty shootouts 5-4.

Germany had regained the lead over Belgium as the game drew to a close, 3-2, but the hosts levelled the score in the 58th minute to force a shootout and send the tournament to overtime and the title game in 2023.

Australia, Germany, and Pakistan are the only nations that have won back-to-back Hockey World Cup titles. Pakistan won in 1971 and 1973, then Germany in 2002 and 2006, and Australia in 2010 and 2014.

Even while all teams had their eyes on the World Cup trophy, the ultimate prize, there were some individual accolades up for grabs at the end of the tournament.

In addition to the “Player of the Match” award, which was given at the conclusion of each game, a total of eleven additional prizes were given out following the final. Learn all detail about the Hockey World Cup 2023.
