Ajey Nagar, also known as CarryMinati on YouTube, and his business partner Deepak Char have invested in Mumbai-based Big Bang Esports Private Limited. Together, the two have purchased a 10% share in Big Bang Media Ventures Private Limited’s esports subsidiary.
Madhu Mantena, a film producer, and Ravneet Gill, a former banker, jointly own the company. The esports organisation plans to build and introduce its upcoming event, Asia Open Esports Championship, with CarryMinati.
The International Esports Federation (IESF) had previously announced a strategic partnership with Big Bang Esports to launch the first tournament edition in December 2022. The IESF was established in 2008 and serves as the industry’s top authority.
“I am glad to join the family of Big Bang Esports Pvt. Ltd. and to become a stakeholder along with my business partner,” CarryMinati said in reference to the partnership. One of the world’s markets for esports is expanding the fastest in India. In recent years, esports has grown astronomically in India. In the upcoming few years, this boom will only pick up speed and vigour. My career path has been greatly influenced by esports, so this partnership makes perfect sense.
“India will arise as one of the going to lead gaming capitals of the world in the future, given that the government has now recognised gaming as a sport, and this partnership will open doors for many interesting developments to occur in the esports arena,” said Deepak Char, CarryMinati’s business partner. Esports development is a movement, and it requires the support of all community stakeholders to be successful.
Mantena declared that CarryMinati would work with them to jointly develop an esports culture that honours the enthusiasm of participation while also promoting the growth of champion gamers as it reimagines the future of the sport.
