Former Pakistan Pacer Shoaib Akhtar believes that India batter Virat Kohli will have 110 international centuries by the end of his career, despite the fact that Kohli currently has 75 international centuries to his name.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar believes that India batter Virat Kohli will have 110 international centuries by the end of his career. After 1205 days, Virat Kohli finally scored a Test century last week, reaching three figures on day four of the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad.

Kohli scored his 28th Test century. There was a 41-inning gap between his previous century and this one, with the previous one coming against Bangladesh in November 2019.

Kohli scored 186 runs to help India draw with Australia and secure a spot in the World Test Championship final against Australia.

Kohli currently has 75 international centuries to his credit. He is ranked second only to Sachin Tendulkar in terms of international tonnes.

Akhtar believes that now that Kohli’s captaincy is off his shoulders, he will score runs like a “beast” and reach the century mark.

“Virat Kohli had to get back into shape, so it’s nothing new for me. Captaincy put a strain on him, but he is now mentally free. He’ll be playing with a lot more focus now. I have complete faith in him to score 110 centuries and break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international tonnes. Now he’s free of captaincy and will score runs like a beast,”

According to the “Rawalpindi Express,” Sachin Tendulkar was his favourite wicket during his international career.

“I once told a teammate that I was going to get Sachin’s wicket. At the time, we were playing in Kolkata. “I bowled Sachin Tendulkar out on the first ball in front of a million people.” After Sachin returned, half of the ground was deserted.”
