In the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) first two matches in the IPL 2021 tournament, Jonny Bairstow batted in the middle order. In the matches, it was Wriddhiman Saha who opened the batting along with skipper David Warner. The tactic didn’t work in their favor as the Orange Army lost the games.
In the third match of the IPL 2021, against Mumbai Indians, SRH dropped Saha and Bairstow was back at the top order alongside Warner. This move worked for them as while chasing the target of 151, Warner got his team off to a flying start. After being very cautious in the first two overs, the Sunrisers blazed away.
Even as Warner lost his touch, Bairstow dominated on the Mumbai Indians bowlers, especially on the New Zealand pacers Trent Boult and Adam Milne. In the third over, Jonny smashed Boult for an amazing six. He showed his full face of the bat and hit the ball over the ropes.
He didn’t only hit a six, but also managed to break a fridge glass in the process.

Bairstow further on went to score 4 off 22 balls, including three fours and four sixes. He and David Warner put a partnership of 67.
