IPL 2021: Highest run scoring match so far at M.A. Chidambaram in this season

It’s Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 10 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After two early wickets, Glenn Maxwell and Devdutt Padikkal stitched an 86-run stand to rescue RCB. Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan pulled KKR close to the target, by scoring 29 and 31, respectively, but they eventually fell short by 38 runs due to excellent bowling by RCB at the end.

Maxwell (78) then received great support from AB de Villiers (76) to power RCB to 204/4 after 20 overs. In response, KKR surged to 57/2 after 6 overs, with cameos from Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi. Eventually, KKR needs 84 runs from 30 balls. Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan pulled KKR close to the target, by scoring 29 and 31, respectively, but they eventually fell short by 38 runs due to excellent bowling by RCB at the end.

This is the highest-scoring match in Chennai in IPL 2021. Before this match, all the matches that played in this stadium are mainly low-scoring matches. But in this match RCB in the first inning scored more than 200 runs and KKR also scored 160 plus in the second inning.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Virat Kohli, has made a tremendous debut in IPL 2021. The team has defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs at the stadium played in Chepauk on Sunday. Having now won all three of their opening matches at RCB, they are the only team that has not yet suffered defeat.

Talking about the match, Virat Kohli decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, he did not start well and lost two wickets for 9 runs. But after this, with the help of Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten innings of 78 from 49 balls and AB de Villiers’s 76 from 34 balls, Bangalore scored 204 runs in 20 overs.

Kolkata started fast to chase the target but their wickets kept falling at every interval. No batsman of the team could play a big inning and KKR managed to score 166 runs after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Kyle Jameson took the most three wickets from RCB.
