Paris 2024 Summer Olympics marathon route announced

The route for the 2024 Paris Olympics marathon has been announced. The race will start at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris and finish at the Esplanade des Invalides. The course will pass through some of the most iconic landmarks in the French capital, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the Palace of Versailles.

The marathon route was announced on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, by the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee. The route was chosen to showcase the best of Paris and to provide a challenging course for the athletes.

The marathon will start at the Hôtel de Ville, the city hall of Paris. The runners will then head south along the Seine River. They will pass by the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum before turning east towards the Palace of Versailles. The runners will then head north back to Paris, passing by the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées. The race will finish at the Esplanade des Invalides, a military complex that houses the Musée de l’Armée.

The marathon route is 42.195 kilometres long. It is a challenging course with a total elevation gain of 436 meters. The course is expected to be fast, with the potential for world records to be broken.

The 2024 Paris Olympics marathon will be one of the most anticipated events of the Games. The course will provide a spectacular backdrop for the race, and the athletes are sure to put on a show for the fans.

While many more spectators are anticipated to line the streets to witness the remainder of the marathon race for free, about 7,000 viewers will be able to purchase a ticket for 24 Euros (24 US dollars) to watch the completion of the event from a stand near the finish line.
