After an eventful week at Tottenham Hotspurs, some positive news for the club and the fans. A lot has been happening at Tottenham in the past few days. Gaffer Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club after a draw against Everton. Harry Kane scored twice for the Spurs but later left the pitch injured.
In their 33rd Premier League match, Spurs was without a head coach and their talisman Harry Kane. Ryan Mason was brought in as an interim coach after the sacking of the Portuguese coach. At the age of 29, he became the youngest man to have ever taken charge of a Premier League team. In his first game as a manager, he recorded a win against the Saints.
Mason brought in Bale as a replacement to the injured Harry Kane. Mason played a more possession and attacking-based football with the team. A complete opposite approach to the previous coach. Despite playing attacking football Spurs conceded in the first half from the corner. Danny Ings scored a beautiful header and took the Saints ahead in the 30th minute.
Gareth Bale equalized for Spurs with a marvelous finesse shot at the 60th-minute mark. In the 75th minute, Heung Min-son scored a goal which was later ruled out as an offside as Lucas Moura was blocking the goalkeeper’s view. But never the less Reguilon won a penalty for the club in the 90th minute and Son scored it with ease.
Tottenham won the game 2-1 against Southampton and Ryan Mason recorded his first win with the club. Tottenham after 33 games sit at 6th position with 53 points, 1 point above the champions Liverpool.
