After suffering a major knee injury in football training, Real Sociedad’s veteran offensive midfielder David Silva is in danger of missing the start of the new season and possibly ending his long career.
According to Xinhua, Silva suffered a suspected torn cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo testing to determine the degree of his injuries.
“David Silva had to leave yesterday’s [Wednesday] training session due to knee problems.” We can see a damage to his anterior cruciate ligament in the photographs supplied. We are currently awaiting a specialized valuation, which will take place next week,” according to the Real Sociedad website.
The 37-year-old signed a contract extension with San Sebastian at the end of last season, but cruciate knee ligament injuries often require six to nine months of recuperation time.
David Josue Jimenez Silva started his career at Valencia before representing Eibar, Celta Viga and Manchester City before joining Real Sociedad.
