One of the well-known Tennis players of Britain, Emma Raducanu had to withdraw her name from Transylvania Open, due to a injury in her wrist. This was later announced by the organizers of the WTA 250 event on 06th October 2022.
This teen star from Britain, who is around 19 years old, has successfully made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament in previous year. She managed to knock out Slovenia’s Polona Hercog 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the first round, prior achieving 6-3, 6-4 opposing local player, Ana Bogdan in the round of 16. However, she ultimately lost to Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinal by 2-6, 1-6.
And, as per reports, the player has achieved her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open a year before. However, this excellent player has been struggling with numerous injuries like side strains, back and hip problems and many more. Recently, the injured player was bound to retire from the Korean Open semi-final opposing Latvian Jelena Ostapenko.
Moreover, Emma recently lost to Daria Kasatkina in the first round of the WTA 500 event in Ostrava, Czech Republic held on 04th of October. She was as well defeated in the second round of Wimbledon by France’s Caroline Garcia. As per the women rankings, Emma is placed at the 67th position.
However, the organizers of tournament wished her luck and speedy recovery as everyone including her fans were disheartened to hear this. They further wished to witness Emma back with full enthusiasm. Moreover, the organization also said that her admirers were so much excited and eager to watch her play after the schedule was released.
They wrote, “Sadly, Emma Raducanu is forced to withdraw from Transylvania Open due to a wrist injury. Get well fast, Emma! We’re looking forward to seeing you soon.” The Transylvania Open is supposed to take place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania from October 10-16, 2022. The preparation for this upcoming tournament is going on full swing, as the players gear up themselves for the same.
