Aakash Chopra questions BCCI for dropping Prithvi Shaw from test squad
The former Indian cricketer believes that it is not necessary to look at IPL but to consider the player who has associated with the team just three months ago.
BCCI selectors recently announced the Indian squad for the World Test Championship where few expected candidates for the tour missed the bus on which a lot of questions. One of these players is Prithvi Shaw who was a part of the test squad on the last tour of Australia.
Many experts believe that Prithvi Shaw should have been chosen for WTC. Cricket commentator Aakash Chopra recently said that he found Shaw a very deserving player for the upcoming tour. The former Indian cricketer said, “I am not saying that you should look at IPL runs when deciding Test squad, but I am talking about a guy who was in your scheme of things three months ago,” on ESPNCricinfo.

“Look at the composition of your Test match openers — I am not sure when was the last time KL Rahul played Test cricket. So, when you look at those four opening choices — none of them is giving you a lot of confidence.
“Pedigree yes, but performance-wise, there is nothing to really write home about. So, why not have Prithvi Shaw in the mix as well. I would have had him,” Aakash Chopra ended.
The Mumbai player had an exceptional form in the IPL and Vijay Hazare Trophy and was seen as a very likable candidate for the WTC tour but unfortunately.
