When Oman took the field against Zimbabwe in the eighth match of the ongoing T20 World Cup in Colombo, a new record was waiting to be made by Aamir Kaleem.

The all-rounder who happens to be 44 years and 81 days old now holds the record for being the oldest player to play in the multination tournament, which also includes the likes of Mohammad Nabi, Roelof van der Merwe and Wayne Madson.

Aamir Kaleem is one of the experienced players in the Oman team, which is led by Jatinder Singh, and is currently taking part in the tenth edition of the multi-team tournament.
