AB De Villiers has decided that he won’t return to international cricket and be a part of the team for ICC World T20 squad scheduled to be held in India.

The South-African cricketer announced his retirement from all formats in May 2018 and was in talks with South Africa coach and former player Mark Boucher about his return to the National Cricket Team.

“Discussions with AB de Villiers have concluded with the batsman deciding once and for all that, his retirement will remain final.”, Cricket South Africa said while announcing the squads for limited over series against West Indies and Ireland over the coming months.

“The team has been in a rebuilding phase for a while now but we are satisfied that the return on investment is going to itself sooner rather than later. We have to trust the process that has been put in place and support our team while they find themselves and their way” convenor of selectors Victor Mpitsang said.
