Milan boss Stefano Pioli has admitted he wants Ibrahimovic to continue playing at the San Siro, despite being in the twilight years of his career.
He said: “Zlatan is happy with us and I think the best thing about this team is that the players are happy.
”We are with a huge club, everyone wants to do well and I think it’s right that he continues playing, and that he does it with us.
“He is an athlete who is highly motivated, is scrupulous in the way he looks after his body with everything from diet to recovery.
“He’s tired, but you don’t stay at this level for this long without looking after yourself.”
Milan has fallen far off the title-challenging pace after their 1-1 draw with Sampdoria despite having a man advantage.
The Rossoneri are now 8 points behind city rivals Inter and have played a game more. Antonio Conte’s side seems destined to lift the Scudetto now this season.
Stefano Pioli, Milan head coach, said there were ‘no excuses for his side’s dropped points.
“Sampdoria also had players in the national team. Kjaer played with Denmark and played a good match today. There are no excuses. We were slow in the build-up and imprecise in our choices,” he said.
