Ubisoft has finally revealed the Assassin’s Creed Valley of Memory DLC, celebrating two years since the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The expansion takes players on a new journey filled with mystery, stealth, and personal discovery. This DLC promises a more focused story, extra missions, and new gameplay elements that give fans plenty to look forward to.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Assassin’s Creed Valley of Memory DLC:
1. A New Chapter in Basim’s Story
The Valley of Memory DLC continues Basim’s adventure in a fresh region called AlUla, located in what is now Saudi Arabia. The story begins when Basim learns that his long-lost father, Is’haq, might still be alive. Hoping to find him, Basim travels to AlUla, only to find the valley under attack by a group of dangerous robbers. To make matters worse, his father has vanished once again, setting the stage for a personal and emotional journey.
This story takes place before the final events of Mirage and offers nearly six hours of new gameplay. Players can expect new side quests, main missions, and hidden areas to explore, adding more depth to Basim’s character and the Assassin’s Creed timeline.
2. A Fresh Map and Refined Gameplay
Set in the 9th-century deserts of AlUla, the DLC features vast landscapes filled with ancient ruins and archaeological details. The desert map includes rocky cliffs, old temples, and small villages that create a more authentic setting for stealth and exploration.
Ubisoft has also improved the stealth mechanics, parkour movements, and assassination system to make combat smoother and more strategic. The DLC introduces a powerful new enemy known as Abyss, described as one of Basim’s toughest opponents yet. Players will need patience and precision to take him down.
3. Replayable Quests and New Rewards
One of the biggest highlights of the DLC is the addition of replayable missions. Popular mission types like contracts and black box challenges from Mirage can now be replayed after completion.
Players can access these missions through the Animus Sequences feature, which offers new variations and challenges each time. Completing them will reward players with exclusive gear, weapons, and customization items, encouraging more exploration and replay value.
4. Expanded Skill Tree and Customization
The Valley of Memory DLC introduces a more detailed skill system divided into three paths: Phantom, Trickster, and Predator.
A new addition, the Engineer 2 skill, allows players to modify tools more efficiently. With it, Basim can use advanced versions of blow darts, throwing knives, and traps to silently eliminate or disable enemies from afar.
This skill tree also has three upgrade levels, giving players more freedom to adapt their playstyle whether they prefer stealth, strategy, or close combat.
5. Parkour Improvements and Movement Control
Parkour is getting a big upgrade in this DLC. A new manual jump system lets players control when and where Basim jumps, offering smoother movement across complex environments.
Ubisoft has also added a “free eject” feature, allowing players to jump sideways or backward in any direction, even when there’s no clear landing point. This feature makes climbing mountains and exploring rocky regions much easier and more realistic.
6. New Difficulty Options for Every Player
The DLC introduces two new difficulty levels along with a Custom Difficulty mode. Players can now adjust how strong or weak enemies are, change their stamina use, and balance overall gameplay to match their skill.
The available levels include:
- Apprentice
- Assassin
- Hardened Assassin
- Master Assassin (Hard)
- Ultimate Assassin
The Custom Difficulty feature gives players full control to design their own challenge perfect for those who like experimenting with combat and strategy.
Release Date and Availability
The Assassin’s Creed Valley of Memory DLC will launch on November 18, 2025, as a free expansion for all Assassin’s Creed Mirage owners.
With six hours of story content, enhanced parkour, new enemies, and upgraded stealth systems, Valley of Memory looks set to become one of Ubisoft’s most engaging DLCs in recent years.
