Once known as the Oakland Raiders, the Las Vegas franchise joined the American Football League in 1960. The series has a remarkable track record of moving across cities.   • The Raiders were founded in Oakland, California, as the league’s eighth charter member in 1960, and they joined the NFL in 1970.
