The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is planning to restructure the Indian football calendar to avoid the hot summer months of May and June. The move is aimed at providing better playing conditions for players and ensuring that the Indian national team is at its best for international matches.
“This month, after the end of the Indian Women’s League (IWL), the football season will end. It will be our endeavour how – considering the weather in our country – we can avoid holding football competitions in April and May,” said AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey.
The current Indian football calendar runs from October to May, with the I-League and the Indian Super League (ISL) being played during the winter months. However, the summer months are often very hot and humid in India, which can make playing football difficult and dangerous.
The AIFF is considering moving the I-League and the ISL to the cooler months of September to March. This would mean that the Indian national team would be able to play more international matches during the winter months when the weather is more favourable.
The AIFF is also considering introducing a new domestic cup competition that would be played during the summer months. This would give players more opportunities to play football during the hot weather and would help to improve the standard of Indian football.
The restructuring of the Indian football calendar is a positive move that will benefit players, clubs, and the national team. It will help to create a more conducive environment for football in India and will help to improve the standard of the game.
The AIFF has not yet announced a final decision on the restructuring of the calendar. However, the move is being welcomed by players, clubs, and fans alike. The restructuring of the calendar is a positive step that will help to improve Indian football.
In addition to the restructuring of the calendar, the AIFF is also planning to invest in improving the infrastructure for football in India. This includes building new stadiums, training facilities, and youth academies. The AIFF is also working to improve the standard of refereeing in India.
The AIFF is committed to developing Indian football and the restructuring of the calendar is a positive step in that direction. The move will help to create a more conducive environment for football in India and will help to improve the standard of the game.
