In 2020, his former girlfriend, Olga Sharypova, accused Zverev of physical and emotional abuse during their relationship in 2019. Zverev strongly denied all allegations. The ATP conducted an independent investigation and later announced there was insufficient evidence to take disciplinary action, closing the case.

In 2023, Brenda Patea, the mother of Zverev’s child, accused him of assault during a 2020 incident in Berlin, alleging pushing and choking. Zverev denied the claims and appealed a penalty order. In 2024, the case was settled with a financial payment and proceedings were dropped without an admission of guilt.

In 2022, at the Acapulco Open, Zverev violently struck the umpire’s chair repeatedly with his racket after a doubles loss, narrowly missing the official. The ATP fined him heavily, placed him on probation, and expelled him from the tournament.
