All England Open is one of the most prestigious badminton tournaments ever and the 2025 season is all set to go on the floors on 11 March. The tournament features a number of legendary players like An Se-Young, PV Sindhu, Shi Yuqi etc. in five categories, out of these players, some of them stand out the most due to their recent achievements and strong form.

An Se-Young
An Se-Young has had a great track record in the All England Open as she won the women’s singles title in 2023 and also reached the finals of the 2024 season though she could not win. This year she will look for a win to claim the title for the second time and also continue her winning streak, as he had already won three titles this year.
She recently won the Orleans Masters earlier this week and also won the Malaysia Open and the India Open. She has not lost a singles game in her first ten matches of 2025 showing her dominance in the sport so it will be thrilling to see if she manages to win this title as well.
PV Sindhu
PV Sindhu is one of the most celebrated badminton players in India, having won multiple major titles like the Olympic Games and the World Championships. She debuted in the All England Open in 2012 as a 17-year-old. She reached the semifinals of the tournament in 2018 this year, she’s competing after a break which makes her a strong contender to watch out for.
Shi Yuqi
Shi Yuqi started his campaign in 2025 by securing the Malaysia Open title by defeating Anders Antonsen in the finals. He also became the World Number 1 in men’s singles last year and is in strong form this season, too. He also has a good winning record in the All England Open as he won the title in 2018 in the men’s singles category and became the runner-up in 2023.
He backed out of the quarterfinals last year in the tournament due to illness and is making a comeback in the 2025 edition and will go straight for the trophy which makes him a strong contender to watch out for.
Kunlavut Vitidsarn
Kunlavut Vitidsarn won the Indonesia Masters in 2025 as a part of the BWF World Tour. He has not competed in the All England Open yet, so this will be his debut in the tournament. He is known for his impressive wins at the BWF World Tour and World Championships. He became the first Thai player to win a gold medal in the men’s singles category. He also secured Thailand’s first-ever Olympic medal in badminton by winning a silver at the Paris Olympics 2024. He’s in good form this year, so we can expect him to shine bright in this tournament.
