Indian teenage squash sensation Anahat Singh clinched the biggest title of her young career by defeating top seed and World No. 10 Georgina Kennedy of England in straight games to win her maiden PSA Bronze-level title at the Squash On Fire Open here on Sunday.
Anahat Singh Wins The Biggest Title Of Her Career
The seventh-seeded Anahat registered a commanding 12-10, 11-5, 11-7 victory in the final, sealing her 15th overall PSA Tour title from just 26 professional tournaments. The triumph marked her first Bronze-level crown and underlined her rapid rise on the international circuit.
Kennedy, the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, had beaten Anahat in their only previous encounter at this season’s Canadian Women’s Open and appeared on course early in the final. The English player held two game balls at 10-8 in the opening game, but Anahat showed remarkable composure to reel off four consecutive points and snatch the game.
From that moment, the Indian teenager took firm control of the contest. After trailing 3-2 early in the second game, Anahat raised her intensity, mixing attacking boasts, sharp kills and well-placed lobs to move 6-3 ahead. She conceded just two more points to move within one game of the title.

Any hopes of a Kennedy comeback were quickly extinguished in the third game as Anahat raced to a 5-1 lead inside two minutes. The score soon read 10-6, giving the Indian four match balls, and she sealed victory with a clinical forehand boast winner.
“I’m extremely happy. I knew I wanted to do well in these events, improve my ranking and put in strong performances, and I’m glad I was able to do that this time,” Anahat said after the match.
The title caps an impressive season for the Delhi player, who reached the semi-finals of the Silver-level Canadian Women’s Open, finished runner-up in the Under-19 category at the British Junior Open, helped India win their first-ever Squash World Cup, and claimed the Daly College Cup PSA title in Indore.
Earlier in the tournament, Anahat staged a remarkable comeback from two games down to defeat second seed Sana Ibrahim of Egypt in the quarter-finals and followed it up with a 3-1 semifinal win over US World No. 23 Sabrina Sobhy.
Currently ranked World No. 31, Anahat continues to establish herself as one of the brightest young prospects on the PSA Tour with another breakthrough performance on the global stage.
