La Liga sides Atletico Madrid and Valencia faced each other in the La Liga on Monday night. The teams were highly energetic on this night. Atletico defeated Valencia FC by 1-0 despite creating less number of chances. Atletico Madrid were lucky to have this victory as the game was going equal from both the sides.
In the first half, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid was on front-foot against Valencia. Someone gone with his old style 4-4-2 formation, with Portuguese forward Joao Felix and Spanish striker Alvaro Morata as the attacking players.
Despite Atletico won this game, they had a very less percentage of possession in the game (29%) as compared to Valencia FC’s possession (71%). Atletico took 13 shots on Valencia’s goal where as the host managed to have 12.
In the later half, when Joao Felix was substituted by the former Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann, he scored the opening goal in the 66th minute to give the lead they wanted. Simeone’s men after the goal went on back-foot and was defending to secure the three points in the game. With this victory, Atletico has 2 wins in 3 games and are on 6th position in the La Liga table.
