Archery World Cup 2025 Stage 1 is set to mark the beginning of the archery season. The competition will be held in Central Florida, USA.
Some of the best archers will come together in a week-long action packed event that will run from April 8 and culminate on 13.
The Florida meet will provide an opportunity for the archers who will look to collect points for the Archery World Cup Finals, scheduled to be held in October in China.
As far as India are concerned, it sent a 16-member archery team – eight men and eight women – for the World Cup with four-time Olympian Deepika Kumari and veteran archer Atanu Das leading the nation’s charge.
Deepika, who is India’s most successful archer at the World Cup with 36 medals to her name in the competition’s history, will feature in the women’s recurve archery.
Meanwhile, Olympians Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai and Atanu Das will represent the country in the men’s recurve event. Both were part of India’s gold medal winning team in the first stage of the 2024 Archery World Cup in Shanghai,.
This will also be the first competition for Atanu Das since competing on the outdoor circuit at the 2023 Archery World Cup in Paris.
World champion Aditi Swami will take the aim in the non-Olympic compound archery event along with Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who is a World Championships silver medallist.
Multiple-time Asian Games medallist Abhishek Verma will represent the tri-colours in men’s compound event.
