This is been a bad year for Italy’s national football team as after winning the Euro 2020 cup they couldn’t qualify for the World Cup. They lost against North Macedonia in a must-win World Cup qualifier game.
Italy lost with a huge margin of 0-3 against the Copa America 2021 winners. This ‘Finalissima’ is played between the Euro Cup winners and Copa America winners and whoever wins this game gets the ‘Finalissima’ trophy. It was not a good year for Lionel Messi but winning a trophy with a national team is always special. It was Lionel Messi’s second International trophy after Argentina won Copa America in 2021 against Brazil.
