Arif Khan is an Indian alpine skier from Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir, where he grew up skiing on snowy mountains. He started skiing very young and went on to win two gold medals in slalom and giant slalom at the South Asian Winter Games.
Arif made history by qualifying for two events at the 2022 Winter Olympics, representing India in slalom and giant slalom. He also received a sports award from the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Arif Khan competes for India in alpine skiing, mainly in slalom and giant slalom events. He represented India at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and made history by qualifying in two events.
He finished 45th in the giant slalom, which is the best Olympic result by an Indian in that event. In slalom, he did not finish his second run. He has also competed at the World Championships and the Asian Winter Games for India.

Arif Khan has raced in six Alpine Skiing World Championships for India. In 2013 he was 59th in slalom and 91st in giant slalom. In 2015 he did not finish slalom and was 101st in giant slalom. In 2019 he placed 79th in slalom and 116th in giant slalom. In 2021 he was 45th in the giant slalom after a slalom DNF. In 2023 he was 61st in slalom. In 2025 he finished 44th in slalom.

Arif Khan led India at the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milano Cortina, Italy, by carrying the Indian flag in the Parade of Nations. He is one of only two athletes from India at these Games,
Along with cross-country skier Stanzin Lundup. This is his second Winter Olympics after Beijing 2022, where he had the best Indian finish of 45th in giant slalom. At Milano Cortina, he will compete in slalom skiing on February 16, 2026.
