Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that the side is not under any pressure and it is their ‘responsibility ‘ to qualify for the Champions League and Europa League.

Gunners settled for a draw in the first-leg of their quarter-final clash Mikel Arteta said he did not begin Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in their 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague since of other players “who had the best chance”. Aubameyang was dropped to the bench at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners were held within the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. The Gunners stay within the Europa League, which appears to be their best chance at qualifying for the Champions League next season. Arsenal as of now sits 10th within the league with only eight games remaining in the Premier League season.

“It is not pressure – it is our responsibility. The club we represent has high demands and that is the minimum we can ask for and we have to, over time, work to deliver those goals because it is what we get asked for,” quoted Arteta as saying.

“We go back to what we used to say when those teams were in a position not to qualify for Europe, we are talking about similar things. There are indeed some really good examples of teams that were rebuilding their teams and it helped them in their project, but I would rather be in Europe,” he added.

 

Last time Arsenal On Friday,  played a 1-1 draw against Slavia Praha in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final and the side will next face Sheffield United within the Premier League clash on a weekend that is Sunday before heading to Eden Field to play the moment leg of the quarters.
