Arsenal FC defeated Crystal Palace by 2-0 in the first encounter of the new season of English Premier League on Friday night. The game was played at Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace’s home ground). Despite being visitors, Arsenal asked some difficult questions to Patrick Vieira’s (Crystal Palace manager) team. Arsenal dominated both the halves and thus end up in the winning side.

Mikel Arteta’s side has done some great business in this summer transfer window, signing some of the amazing players. Arsenal’s new signing Gabriel Jesus who joined from Manchester City made his Premier League debut for the club in this match. First goal of the Premier League new season was scored by Gabriel Martinelli. This was also Arsenal’s first PL goal of the new season. Arsenal were 1-0 up in the 20th minute.

Arsenal were playing brilliantly in the first half and deserved the lead they got in the first 45 minutes. Manager Mikel Arteta was looking very happy after that first half performance. Arsenal go 2-0 up just before the final whistle when Crystal Palace man named Guehi scored an own goal. A comfortable 2-0 victory was enough for the Gunners to take all 3 points home in their first game of the season.
