The new Olympic cycle began with the Artistic Gymnastics British Championships in the UK. The events took place at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool from Thursday, 20 March, to Sunday, 23 March.
The four-day competition saw actions in senior, junior and disability categories. A slew of high-profile athletes including Olympians took part at the championships.
In the all-round competition, Alia Leat of Heathrow Gymnastics Club won the women’s contest with a score of 52.200 ahead of Frances Stone (51.350), and Emily Roper (49.600) at the Artistic Gymnastics British Championships 2025.
In the men’s event, Jamie Lewis topped the podium with a total of 80.200. Jonas Rushworth (78.850) took second ahead of Paris 2024 Olympian Luke Whitehouse (78.650).
The Artistic Gymnastics British Championships served as the precursor to the European Championships in Leipzig, Germany from 26-31 May, which will debut a mixed team event. The athletes will then head for world championships in Jakarta, Indonesia from 19-25 October.
