The Wait Is Over: Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 New Dates Announced

The Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship is returning after a long gap of 8 years and is the sixth edition, the latest one being held in 2017. The current season was in trouble as the dates have been changed constantly. However, the good news is that the continental federation has announced the confirmed dates on Tuesday.

The competition will take place in Tehran, Iran from 4 March and will conclude on 9 March 2025. Earlier, it was scheduled to be held from 20 February to 25 February. The Iranian capital had previously hosted the second edition of the tournament in 2007 and is the first city to host the event twice.

The Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship’s date was revised due to a scheduling conflict with India’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship. India has been a defending champion of the title since the tournament was inaugurated in 2005, having won every single edition except 2016. The team will look to retain the title.

The tournament will serve as a warm-up for the upcoming Kabaddi World Cup which is scheduled from 17 March to 23 March. The competition will feature 12 teams competing for the trophy with India being the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
