The World Athletics Continental Tour returns in 2025 bringing thousands of athletes together for an exciting calendar year.
Thirteen Gold-level meetings will be staged across five continents. Events will be held in iconic venues as fans await for one of the most exhilarating competitions in the international athletics arena.
The sixth edition of the World Athletics Continental Tour kicks off on 29 March in Melbourne, Australia. Several elite athletes will feature at the Maurie Plant Meet including sprinting phenom Letsile Tebogo, the reigning World Athlete of the Year.
Two weeks later, the extravaganza heads to Gaborone, Botswana, before its culmination in Tokyo on 18 May for the Golden Grand Prix, where the World Championships will be held in September.
The month of May will include stops in Zagreb (22-24 May), Bydgoszcz (30 May), and Nairobi (31 May).
These will be followed by five high-profile meets in June with Los Angeles (8 June), Hengelo (9 June), Turku (17 June), New York City (21 June), and Ostrava (24 June) in the list.
The action then heads to Szekesfehervar, Hungary, on 12 August, before the tour’s grand finale in Beijing on 7 September, only a few days ahead of the World Championships.
The tour has been scheduled in such a way that the athletes can prepare themselves for the World Athletics Championships, the pinnacle of athletics events in a calendar year.

“The 2025 calendar is designed to optimize athlete performance while providing fans with a unique and unforgettable spectacle,” said Fernando Reis, the tour’s technical director.
The popularity of the Tour has risen over the years to grow into a premier athletics circuit. Competitions are held in Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Challenger.
The last edition of the Athletics Continental Tour in 2024 featured over 20,000 athletes who represented nearly 200 countries. The tournament produced several milestones including one world record, 12 area records, 205 national records, and a staggering 7,146 personal bests.
