Atletico Madrid recorded a 5-0 win against Eibar at home. Angel Correa and Marcos Llorente scored a brace each. Yannick Carrasco also got on the scoresheet with a 49th-minute goal. Real Madrid though couldn’t get through Getafe’s defense. The game ended goallessly. The results lead to a further increase in the gap between the Madrid clubs by 3 points.

Atletico even without their first-choice strikers Luis Suarez and Felix in the team, looked very confident on the pitch. Simeone’s men literally defended perfectly as Eibar couldn’t even shoot once in the entire game. On the other hand, Atletico shot 7 times on target and scored 5 out of them.

Yannick Carrasco has made a phenomenal comeback to Atletico this season. He has been instrumental in Atletico’s win with his versatile playstyle. Carrasco has made the left flank his own. He scores, he defends he gets assists and makes some very important runs. Another revelation this season has been Marcos Llorente. He has been scoring goals for fun. He can play centrally as well as on wings.

Real on the other hand after had a lackluster performance against 15th placed Getafe. Getafe with 19 shots was much more dominant on the pitch than Real. As the season progresses the Spanish League is becoming more and more interesting. Can Simeone’s men finish 1st in the league after 7 years? Only time will tell.
