Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah is known for his calm attitude both on and off the field. But this time, the usually composed cricketer seemed to have had enough when paparazzi crowded him outside the Mumbai Airport after his return from the West Indies series.
Workload Concerns and Busy Schedule
Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant performances with the ball continue to keep him in the spotlight, but so does his heavy workload. The Indian team management has been quite cautious about it. Despite that, the ace pacer was part of the Asia Cup, played between the Test series against England and the West Indies. The move was likely made to give him some extra T20 game time ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026.
When Bumrah Lost His Patience
Cricketers, like most celebrities, are no strangers to being followed by paparazzi. While many enjoy the attention, some prefer staying away from the limelight – and Jasprit Bumrah definitely falls into the latter category.
After India’s series win against the West Indies, Jasprit Bumrah landed in Mumbai and was quickly surrounded by photographers eager to capture his reaction. But this time, the star pacer wasn’t in the mood for it.
A visibly annoyed Jasprit Bumrah said, “Maine bulaya hi nahi. Tum kisi aur ke liye aaye ho, aa rahe honge wo” (I have not asked you to come. You guys have come for someone else; they must be coming).
Trying to lighten the moment, one of the paps joked, “Bumrah bhai, aap bonus mein mile ho humein Diwali ke” (You are our Diwali bonus). But that didn’t help much. Bumrah, still irritated, replied, “Arey bhai, meri gaadi ke paas jaane do mujhe” (Please let me go to my car).

Jasprit Bumrah Stays Back in Mumbai
After wrapping up the West Indies series, Jasprit Bumrah returned to Mumbai to spend time with his family. He’s been on the road for over a month, having played the Asia Cup and then the Tests in quick succession.
The Indian team has already flown to Australia for the upcoming ODI series starting on October 19, but Bumrah didn’t travel with them. Reports suggest that Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir have rested him for the ODIs.
He’s expected to rejoin the squad later, just before the T20I series begins. There’s a short three-day break between the final ODI on October 25 and the first T20I on October 29, giving Jasprit Bumrah some breathing space before switching formats.
Still the Best in the World
Jasprit Bumrah’s recent form has been nothing short of sensational. Despite playing only three Tests in England, he managed to take key wickets. He also shone in the Asia Cup and finished the West Indies series with seven wickets to his name.
Currently, Jasprit Bumrah holds the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings, maintaining his reputation as one of the finest pacers in world cricket. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav also climbed seven places to reach rank 14 after his impressive red-ball comeback.
