Tim David Sends One Out of the Park in Hobart with a Monster Six: Australia’s power-hitter Tim David wasted no time showing off his strength in the third T20I against India at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. Fans were left stunned as he launched a massive six right onto the stadium roof. The ball flew so high that for a moment, it looked like it might even leave the ground altogether.
The incredible moment came on the fifth ball of the seventh over when Tim David hammered a 129-meter six off Indian spinner Axar Patel. Axar tossed one up outside off, and David unleashed a thunderous hit that left everyone in awe.

A Six That Shook the Roof
The right-hander stepped down the pitch and struck the ball straight down the ground with enormous power, sending it crashing onto the top of the stadium roof. The crowd erupted as the ball dropped back onto the field after that mighty blow. Tim David himself looked amazed by the shot, while Axar could only smile in disbelief.

Earlier, Tim David got a bit of luck in the previous over against Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah bowled a quick and full delivery that David tried to slice toward backward point. He connected well, but Washington Sundar couldn’t hold on as the ball hit his wrist and popped out.
It was a tough chance, but Tim David made full use of that lifeline. India will surely regret it as the Australian batter raced to 74 runs off just 37 balls, hitting eight boundaries and five towering sixes. His strike rate? A blistering 200.

Tim David Smashes the Second-Fastest T20I Fifty for Australia Against India
Tim David’s explosive innings also earned him a place in the record books. He brought up his half-century in just 23 balls, making it the second-fastest T20I fifty by an Australian against India.
The record for the fastest still belongs to Cameron Green, who reached his fifty in just 19 balls in Hyderabad back in 2022. Travis Head follows next with his 24-ball fifty in 2024.
Despite David’s heroics, Australia once again had a slow start in the Powerplay, managing only 43 runs for the loss of two wickets. Interestingly, that’s their joint-lowest Powerplay score in T20Is during the current World Cup cycle, matching their 43 for 2 against Pakistan at the same venue in November 2024.
Shivam Dube Ends David’s Fireworks
Tim David’s fiery knock eventually came to an end thanks to Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube. Dube bowled a full delivery on middle, and David went for another big one down the ground. But Tilak Varma showed brilliant awareness at long-off, moving swiftly to his left, judging it perfectly, and taking a clean catch right near the boundary rope.
David walked back after a breathtaking innings of 74 off 38 balls, filled with eight fours and five massive sixes. Dube celebrated the big wicket with a pumped-up double fist pump as India finally managed to stop the Australian powerhouse.
