AUS W vs IND W: Day 4 – India’s Maiden Pink Ball Test Match ends in a Draw
With rain disrupting play in Day 1 and Day 2, it was kind of expected that the Day/Night One-off Test Match between AUS W vs IND W will end in a draw.
The last and final day of the AUS W vs IND W Only Test Match – Day 4 – of the longer format played with a Pink-Ball and under lights at the Metricon Stadium in Carrara, Australia. The encounter ended in a Draw.
However, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team dominated throughout the Test. Hence, in the Multi-Format Commonwealth Bank Series between Australia and India, the Aussie is currently leading with 6-4 point-wise. With the Draw, both India and Australia earned two points each.
More to come to the Series between AUS W vs IND W as 3 T20Is are yet to be played. The T20 Campaign for India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur. Meanwhile, the 3 T20Is will be played on 7th, 9th, and 10th October at the Metricon Stadium.
Day 4 AUS W vs IND W of – Pink Ball Test Match
Australia continuing their batting 143/4 from Day 3 – had Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner in the crease added crucial runs as both scored a half-century each. But just after scoring 50 – Ashleigh Gardner gets Out as Deepti Sharma gives India the breakthrough as Captain Mithali Raj dives to take the catch.
After this there was an Australian batting collapse, however, Ellyse Perry’s unbeaten innings helped the Aussie avoid the follow-on. Ellyse Perry made 68* (off 203). Then the Australian Skipper Meg Lanning went to declare on 241/9.
As a result, the Indian opening batters took to the field – to play the 2nd Innings. Both Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana gave India a good partnership of 70 Runs. The youngster Shafali Verma went on to score her Third Test Fifty and ended her innings on 52 (off 91 deliveries). In the end, Punam Raut’s unbeaten 41 off 62 deliveries guided India to put 135/3 on board. As Mithali Raj declared, India leading by 271 Runs.
Thus, Australia Women needed 272 Runs to Win from 32 Overs. Meanwhile, India Women needed 10 Wickets to Win.

Final Innings of Day 4
As always, it’s Jhulan Goswami who once again proves why she is the best bowler for India as she strikes early to get Alyssa Healy Out. Australia is 8/1 in 2.3 overs.
The next wicket falls, as Beth Mooney departs as she tried to hit it big but instead the ball goes high up in the sky, Rajeshwari Gayakwad runs and takes a safe catch. Pooja Vastrakar gets the wicket.
At the crease, it’s Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry for the Aussie. After putting 32/2 in 15 overs, Aussie Skipper Meg Lanning talked to her Indian counterpart and both decided to shake hands indicating the Match Drawn.

As a result, the One-off Day/Night Test between AUS W vs IND W is Drawn.
