Australian players likely to return to Australia today from Maldives

It’s been more than 2 weeks since IPL got suspended. Almost all of the overseas players flew to their respective countries. But almost all the players of the Australian contingent had to go to the Maldives first to remain in isolation for few days.

This was because the Australian government banning all flights from India because of the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in India. Even IPL was suspended due to several COVID-19 positive cases in some franchises.

On Sunday, Australian players are likely to fly to their homeland as the borders of Australia are now open from May 16. So, all the Australian players and support staff that were in isolation in the Maldives will fly most probably fly back on Sunday.
