Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka’s first match of the 3 matches ODI series turned out to be in the hosts’ favor. As Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 33 runs in a dominant way. This was the first match in international cricket after a brief break.

Winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bat first and proved their decision right. They kept on scoring runs despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Mushfiqur Rahim played an incredible inning of 84 runs off just 87 balls. With his knock, Bangladesh reached a descent total of 257 runs by losing 6 wickets.

Coming down to Chase 258 runs, Sri Lanka did not get off to a great start. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. SL failed to keep up with the required run rate. They ended up getting all out at a score of 224 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga was the only player of Sri Lanka who showed intent to fight back. He scored 74 runs off just 60 balls and his inning included 5 sixes as well.

Eventually, Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh concluded with Bangladesh winning this one-sided match by 33 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim was named as the Man of the Match for playing a brilliant Knock of 84 runs.
