Barcelona have pulled off another slick piece of business this summer, swooping in to sign FC Copenhagen’s teenage sensation Roony Bardghji and for just €2.5 million! Yes, you read that right. In a market where eyebrows are still stuck at “€100M for Mudryk?”, Barca have pounced on a contract loophole and bagged one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers for pocket change.
Barca and Copenhagen have reached a full agreement for Roony Bardghji
According to transfer insider Santi Aouna, Barca and Copenhagen have reached a full agreement for the 19-year-old Swedish starlet, with the Danish side pocketing a fee of €2.5 million and keeping a 15% sell-on clause in the back pocket for the future.
Bardghji, who made headlines after scoring the winner against Manchester United in last season’s Champions League group stages, has been on the Catalans’ radar for more than a year. And while FC Porto tried to sneak in with a matching offer this summer, the winger, a self-proclaimed Barça fan since childhood, chose the Camp Nou dream over Portuguese sunshine.

Barca to agree on personal terms with the player
With the formalities nearly wrapped up, the only thing left now is for Barca to agree on personal terms with the player. Once that’s done, Bardghji is expected to link up with Barca Atletic while training regularly with Hansi Flick’s first-team squad. He’ll be flicking between the youth and senior setups.
This makes Bardghji the third confirmed signing of the summer after the arrival of Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia and ongoing progress on the Nico Williams deal. And at just 19, the Kuwaiti-born winger brings not just Champions League experience but a serious highlight reel and bags of potential.
Contract talks with Copenhagen? Rejected. Porto’s offer? Swerved.
Childhood dream move to Barcelona? Locked in.

Watch this space. Roony Bardghji might just be the next big thing lighting up Montjuïc.
