Baroda, led by Krunal Pandya, created history in the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by scoring the highest-ever T20 total. They put up an incredible 349/5 against Sikkim at the Emerald Heights International School Ground in Indore on Thursday, December 5. This explosive inning included a record-breaking 37 sixes, the most ever in a T20 game.
This score surpassed the previous T20 record held by Zimbabwe, who had scored 344/4 against Gambia earlier in 2024.

Bhanu Pania Shines in Baroda’s Historic Win
Baroda’s openers Shashwat Rawat and Abhimanyu Singh gave a fiery start, adding 92 runs for the first wicket. Shashwat scored a blistering 43 off 16 balls, while Abhimanyu smashed 53 off just 17 deliveries.
The real hero of the innings was Bhanu Pania, who played an unbeaten knock of 134 runs off 51 balls. His innings included an incredible 15 sixes and five boundaries. Supporting contributions came from Shivalik Sharma, who scored 55 off 17 balls, and Vishnu Solanki, who made 50 off 16 deliveries.
Sikkim’s bowlers struggled to contain Baroda’s onslaught. Palzor and Roshan managed to take two wickets each but were quite expensive, while Tarun Sharma picked up one wicket.
Baroda’s Standings and Sikkim’s Struggles
With this victory, Baroda, a two-time champion, holds third place in the Group B points table, having won five of their six matches. In contrast, Sikkim remains winless after six games.
This record-breaking match will surely go down as one of the most memorable performances in T20 cricket history.
