In SRH vs RR, where the stakes were high, where both teams’ players would give their best and perform to their best ability, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi broke the record for the fastest fifty in an IPL playoffs match, setting himself parallel to Suresh Raina’s 16-ball fifty record, which Suresh Raina made in 2014 at Wankhede Stadium against Punjab Kings.

In the IPL 2026 Eliminator match, he created the record for the fastest fifty in an IPL playoffs match as he scored fifty in just 16 balls, with a six of Sakib Hussain’s last ball of the 4th over, and reached the milestone of the 16-ball fifty. With just 1 four and 8 sixes, he was at 54*(16) after the 5th over, and he attacked every bowler, and on the other side with him, Yashasvi Jaiswal played an anchoring innings with  Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

In IPL 2026 Eliminator, it is a do-or-die match for both teams, as the team that is going to lose the match will be directly out of the tournament, and the team that wins the match will play against the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier-2, which is going to be held at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru have locked their spot in the IPL 2026 finals.
