India Defends Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Title
India dominated the final from the start. South Africa won the toss and chose to bat, but India’s bowlers were too strong. After an early partnership, Parunika Sisodia broke through with the first wicket, and Shabnam Shakil dismissed Botha for 16. Gongadi Trisha then removed Mieke van Voorst, and South Africa collapsed to just 82 runs. Indian spinners took all nine wickets, securing a commanding victory.
In reply, India showed no signs of pressure, despite playing in a final. The opening partnership added 36 runs before Kamalini was dismissed for 8. However, Gongadi Trisha and vice-captain Sanika Chalke ensured no further wickets fell, guiding India to a comfortable victory. Trisha continued her excellent form, finishing unbeaten on 44 off 33 balls, while Chalke made 26 off 22 balls and hit the winning runs. Trisha was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
