Cricket returns to Greater Noida with renewed ambition and a stronger heartbeat as the Big Cricket League (BCL) prepares for its highly anticipated second season. From March 11 to March 22, 2026, the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium will become the epicentre of Pro-Am cricket, hosting a larger, sharper, and more competitive edition of the league.
BCL, billed as the world’s first professional-amateur cricket league, returns for Season 2 after a successful debut season. The concept remains as appealing as ever: international stars sharing the same dressing room and battlefield as India’s most promising amateur cricketers.
The league’s player auction, scheduled for February 16, is expected to draw a lot of attention. Franchisees will seek to strike the right balance by combining global experience with raw, hungry talent. If Season 1 was about proving the model worked, Season 2 appears to be about taking it to the next level.
Last season featured renowned names such as Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Herschelle Gibbs and Imran Tahir. Their presence brought credibility and drew fans in large numbers. This year, expectations are even higher, with more international players likely to join the mix and raise the competitive bar further.
Backing the event is the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), which has extended full support to ensure smooth execution. Preparations are underway at the venue, with infrastructure and logistics being streamlined for the 12-day cricketing spectacle.

Prerna Singh, ACEO of GNIDA, highlighted the significance of the event for the region.
“Greater Noida Authority actively supports initiatives that combine sporting excellence with regional advancement. Hosting Big Cricket League Season 2 at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium is a significant step toward positioning the city as a leading sports destination in the region,” she said.
League Commissioner Dilip Vengsarkar expressed pride in bringing the tournament to Uttar Pradesh.
“We are proud to bring Season 2 of the Big Cricket League to Uttar Pradesh, with the support of GNIDA. As the world’s first Pro–Am cricket league, BCL is committed to building a professional platform where emerging amateur talent competes alongside established international cricketers. Uttar Pradesh’s strong focus on developing world-class sports infrastructure provides the ideal environment for this vision to thrive. Through this season, we aim to further strengthen the pathway for aspiring cricketers across the state, turning ‘Ab Sapne Banenge Haqeeqat’ into a tangible opportunity on the field,” he said.
Founder and President Rudra Pratap Singh described the upcoming edition as a defining chapter.
“Season 2 marks a defining milestone for the Big Cricket League. The support from GNIDA reinforces our vision of building India’s most powerful pro–am cricket platform. With international stars joining hands with emerging amateur talent, this season will set new benchmarks in competitive cricket,” he stated.
Chief Patron Puneet Singh believes the league is entering a new phase.
“The response to Season 1 validated our model. Season 2 is not just an expansion; it is an evolution. From the player auction on 16th February to the grand matches in March, every aspect of this season has been strategically elevated to deliver scale, quality, and impact,” he said.
CEO and Co-Founder Annirudh Chauhan echoed that sentiment.
“Season 2 represents scale, structure, and serious cricketing ambition. With support from GNIDA, BCL is entering a new phase of growth. Our focus is not just on hosting matches, but on building a sustainable platform where global professionals and India’s rising amateur talent compete at the highest level,” he noted.
At its core, BCL remains rooted in a powerful idea that cricketing dreams do not expire. In this league, a doctor, engineer, shopkeeper, marketer, lawyer, entrepreneur or farmer can walk onto the same field as established international players and compete under the lights. It is a format that incorporates aspiration, opportunity, and performance alongside belief.
As March approaches, Greater Noida prepares not just for a tournament, but for twelve days of high-intensity cricket, ambition, and stories waiting to unfold. Season 2 of the Big Cricket League is ready to raise the curtain.
