Tennis Players Best Costumes at 2024 Paris Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympics are going on with the world’s top tennis athletes competing in the sports event. In addition to the activity on the court, players have paid close attention to what they dress in Paris.

Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Rafael Nadal, Coco Gauff, and Carlos Alcaraz are just some of the well-known tennis players competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Many of them are representing their countries for the first time at the Summer Games, and their clothes have been a highlight of their campaigns. But this is not the case for everyone.

Let’s have a look at the costumes of the tennis players at the 2024 Paris Olympics:

1. Coco Gauff

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are anticipated to be the pinnacle of Coco Gauff’s career thus far, with her debut, serving as the female flag-bearer for the United States during the opening ceremony, and competing in all three formats. She started her singles career with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Ajla Tomljanovic. The American prodigy was appropriately suited for the occasion.

Wearing a slightly cropped tank top by New Balance and a pleated skirt with a gradient motif of red and blue, Coco Gauff exuded style. The World No. 2 finished off her costume with a blue head and wrist bands and a white bow in her hair.

2. Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz is perhaps one of the most well-known athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion started his singles and doubles campaigns well and is on track to finish on the podium. Everything seemed to be going well for the Spaniard, with the exception of his clothing.

During his first-round singles encounter against Lebanon’s Hady Habib, Alcaraz sported a red T-shirt and yellow shorts. The combo was poor, to say the least. While the colour scheme was consistent with the Spanish flag, the outfit itself proved to be an unimpressive choice for the sport’s top players due to a lack of design and creativity.

3. Casper Ruud

Norwegian No. 1. Casper Ruud, his country’s only tennis entrant, is making his Olympic debut in Paris and has had an excellent start. He faced Taro Daniel in the first round and easily defeated the Japanese player in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. The former world number two will now face Andrea Vavassori in the second round.

Ruud’s lone alteration before his match against Vavassori is his outfit. The 25-year-old’s red t-shirt and white shorts outfit from the first round fell short of expectations. The Yonex-designed costume lacked the all-important dash of blue, making it appear more appropriate for a player from Denmark than Norway.

4. Viktorija Golubic

Viktorija Golubic is one of two Swiss tennis players competing at the Paris Olympics. Golubic, a doubles silver medallist in Tokyo 2020, only signed up to play singles in the French capital, against fifth seed Jessica Pegula of the United States. The American held off Golubic’s challenge and won 6-3, 6-4.

While Viktorija Golubic’s performance may have fallen short, her costume was certainly impressive. The 31-year-old wore an Asics-designed red top and white skirt that matched the colours of the Swiss flag. The white lining running across the top and sides of the suit, which resembled the Swiss Alps and a spruce tree, set it apart.

5. Nicolas Jarry

Nicolas Jarry is one of three Chilean tennis players playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was seeded 16th in the men’s singles tournament and faced Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in the opening round. Jarry was expected to excel on clay after reaching his first Masters 1000 final at the 2024 Italian Open. However, Popyrin defeated him 6-4, 7-6 (5) and eliminated him from the tournament.

Nicolas Jarry’s attire saved him from elimination in the first round of singles matches. His red T-shirt, blue shorts, white cap, and wristband matched the Chilean flag wonderfully, emphasising all three colours. Fans will have another chance to witness Jarry’s Wilson-made attire because he is also competing in the doubles event alongside Alejandro Tabilo.
