In June 2018, Shahzad was one of the eleven cricketers who participated in Afghanistan’s first Test match against India. Shahzad also holds a unique record for scoring an ODI century while his team’s score (against India in the Asia Cup 2018) was only 131, tying Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi for the previous record.

Shahzad was not a member of Afghanistan’s team when they first started competing in international cricket competitions in 2008; he only joined for the 2009 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in South Africa. Since then, he has consistently played for Afghanistan’s national team in all three game forms thanks to his outstanding efforts throughout the tournament, which enabled Afghanistan to earn One Day International status.

Ikram Alikhil

He was selected for Afghanistan’s under-23 squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December 2018. He was included in the Test and One Day International (ODI) teams for Afghanistan’s series against Ireland in India in February 2019. On March 2, 2019, he played in his first Afghanistan ODI match against Ireland. On March 15, 2019, he faced Ireland in Afghanistan’s first-ever Test match. He was included in Afghanistan’s roster for the 2019 Cricket World Cup on June 6, 2019.

He took Mohammad Shahzad’s place, who was unable to compete due to a knee ailment. Ikram Alikhil, an Afghan cricket player, was born on September 29, 2000. He is a left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. He has so far participated in ODIs and a single Test for Afghanistan. He became the 41st cricketer to compete in a World Cup while still in his teens as he participated in the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup.

Additionally, Ikram Alikhil helped Afghanistan win their first ACC Under-19 Cup championship by scoring an undefeated century in the 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup final.

Karim Sadiq

Saadiq is a quickly developing Afghan cricket team member who has taken first place in the World Cricket League Divisions Five, Four, and Three in less than a year, elevating them to Division Two and granting them entry to the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifiers. In their loss to the Netherlands at the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier, he received a one-match suspension for “inappropriate and intentional physical contact.” He did well throughout the competition with the bat, leading the way with 92 runs, and, unexpectedly for a wicketkeeper, with the ball.

These were some of the best wicket keepers of the Afghanistan team who played extremely well in one-day cricket.
