Afsar Zazai: The Best Wicketkeeper

Early on, Afsar Zazai’s skill as a wicketkeeper-batsman was recognized, and at age 16, he was named to Afghanistan’s team for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. He had previously earned a spot in the Under-19 team by participating for the Under-17 team at the Asian Cricket Council Challenge Cup and had nine dismissals in six games during the U19 World Cup qualifiers in 2009. A rising star, he attended his second Youth World Cup in 2012, the same year he made his First-Class Intercontinental Cup debut for the main Afghan national team.

Mohammad Asghar Afghan

Asghar is a medium-fast bowler and a right-handed batsman. He was selected to lead Afghanistan in their first Test match against India in May 2018. On June 14, 2018, he played his first Test for Afghanistan against India. He changed his last name from Stanikzai to Afghan on August 2. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) removed him as the team captain for Afghanistan in all three forms in April 2019. Asghar Afghan was, however, reappointed by the ACB as the captain of the Afghanistan cricket team in all forms in December 2019.

Rahmat Shah

Rahmat was included in a number of Afghanistan’s first-class and One-Day International teams. He has represented Afghanistan in List A cricket matches against Pakistan A and other local squads like Faisalabad and Rawalpindi. On September 12, 2017, he made his Twenty20 debut for the Band-e-Amir Dragons in the Shpageeza Cricket League. With 258 runs scored in five games, Rahmat led the Mis Ainak Region in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament. With eight dismissals in five games, he also had the most wickets for the group overall.
