KRAFTON India has cleared confusion around an important verification issue affecting players in the BGIS 2026. This update comes at the right time, as the in-game qualifiers are now live and will continue until January 14, 2026.
Many teams faced trouble during verification due to username mismatch, but the issue is simple and can be fixed quickly if players follow the correct steps.
What Is the BGIS 2026 Username Verification Issue
The verification system checks player details using the username from the most recent login in BGMI. Problems happen when a player changes their in-game name but does not log in again after making that change.
If the game is not opened once more, the system still reads the old username. This leads to verification failure, even if the player has updated their name correctly.
In short, the name change is not detected because the system only saves details from the last login session.
How Players Can Fix the Username Issue Easily
The solution is very simple and does not need any extra steps or support tickets.
Players only need to log in to BGMI once after changing their username. This refreshes the account data and allows the system to record the new name correctly.
KRAFTON confirmed that verification was completed by January 7. Players who followed this step are now eligible to play the in-game qualifiers without any problem.
BGIS 2026 In-Game Qualifiers Overview
The in-game qualifiers are the first step of the tournament and are open to verified teams only.
Each team plays 15 ranked matches on Erangel and Miramar. Out of these, only the best 10 matches are counted. Points depend on match placement, survival time, and eliminations.
The top 1016 teams from this stage will move forward to Round 1, which begins on January 26, 2026. With a prize pool of ₹2 crore waiting at the end, every match in this stage is important.
