The top Big Air athletes will battle for valuable points in the run up to winning the Crystal Globe.

The events in Kreischberg will be staged from from 9-11 January.

2025 Big Air World Cup, Kreischberg: Athletes to watch out for 

Women

Fukada Mari of Japan, who leads the FIS World Cup standings with 260 points, is the top contender at the event. The 18-year-old completed three podium finishes from three events, including a superb victory in Chur in October. 

She finished second in overall rankings in 2023-24. 

right on her tail with 245 points.

Mia Brookes of Great Britain, who trails Mari with 245 points, became the youngest world champion in snowboarding history in 2013. She earned slopestyle gold in Georgia, aged just 16. With back-to-back World Cup wins, she will step into the competition. Brookes is second in the slopestyle competition and first in the Overall Park&Pipe category.

Men

Hasegawa Taiga of Japan, the reigning world champion notched up his second win of the season in Klagenfurt. He collected 90 points for a total 179.75. 

Ian Matteoli of Italy is 19 points behind Taiga in the overall season’s standings.  The 19-year-old completed two podium finishes and a fourth-place result in Chur to kick off his third World Cup season. The Italian clinched the world’s first 2160 on a snowboard last February, and will be looking for a Big Air World Cup podium for the first time this year.
