The Indian Premier League(IPL) is getting intense and thrilling every day. Today is a fiery battle between the Delhi Capitals and the Punjab Kings in the 1st half, and in the evening, it’s the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals. Amid a big blow for Lucknow Super Giants, South African quick Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026. According to media reports, the tall pacer will take no further part in the tournament due to an injury. LSG’s bowling coach Bharat Arun confirmed the news, adding to the team’s growing concerns this season.

One more Injury in IPL

Another injury setback has hit the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2026. The franchise currently doesn’t have an overseas fast-bowling backup in the squad. Earlier, when Wanindu Hasaranga was sidelined with an injury, the team management brought in South African all-rounder George Linde as his replacement. For now, there’s no clarity on whether LSG will move to sign a replacement for Anrich Nortje as well.

Anrich Nortje got  injured

One key reason is that Lucknow Super Giants have found solid returns from their Indian bowling core in the Indian Premier League 2026. Prince Yadav has led the charge with 13 wickets from seven outings, while Mohammed Shami has chipped in with seven scalps. Mohsin Khan has also made an impact, claiming four wickets in his three appearances so far. Meanwhile, M Siddharth and Divesh Rathi have kept things tight, maintaining impressive economy rates.

Big Challenge for LSG

Lucknow Supergiants are going through one of the toughest, or you can say, a bad season. Rishabh Pant’s LSG is at number 9 in the list. Out of 7 matches, they have won just 2 matches and lost 5 matches. So, it’s so hard for Lucknow Supergiants to come back from here. But Captain Rishabh Pant will try so hard to put his best for his side as a leader and player as well.
