BWF: 3 Chinese players inducted in the BWF Hall of Fame

Olympic gold medalists from China Zhang Ning, Cai Yun, and Fu Haifeng have been inducted into the Badminton World Federation’s Hall of Fame. The BWF made this announcement on Wednesday.

Zhang Ning won gold in the women’s singles at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and was also crowned as the World Champion in the year 2003.

Cai and Fu on the other hand are the only doubles player in history so far to have won 4 World Championship titles.

BWF took to its social media handle to announce the players who were included in the Hall of Fame.

“Congratulations to 🇨🇳 trio Zhang Ning, Cai Yun, Fu Haifeng for being named BWF Hall of Fame Inductees 2021. 🙌🎉🎊

Olympic gold medallists Zhang Ning, Cai Yun, and Fu Haifeng have been inducted into the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Hall of Fame. The trio from China will be officially recognized at a virtual ceremony and media event hosted by BWF on Wednesday 16 June 2021.”

Three of the players take us back to the previous Chinese dominance over the players when the badminton world witnessed the Chinese Wall which almost lasted till the year 2013.
