The Cadillac F1 Team revealed their very first Formula 1 race car’s design on 8 February 2026 during a commercial in the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sports events on TV. The car wears a special two-colour look with one side mostly black and the other mostly white, making it stand out on the grid.
The design uses a repeating Cadillac chevron pattern to help the car look fast even when still. After the TV reveal, a replica showed the colours in Times Square, New York City, to let people see it up close. This car will race in the 2026 F1 season as Cadillac’s first entry into top-level motorsport.
Early GM and Cadillac F1 Attempts 1951–53
In the early 1950s, General Motors first appeared in Formula One history through the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the world championship at that time. In 1951, a car using a Chevrolet engine tried to qualify but failed. In 1952 and 1953, cars with Cadillac power were entered, but they also did not qualify. These were early attempts, so none of the cars reached the final race grid then.
Cadillac F1 Team Entry and Establishment Since 2023
In January 2023, General Motors and Andretti Global announced they wanted to enter the Formula One World Championship under the Cadillac name. After a long approval process, the FIA and Formula One Management finally approved Cadillac’s entry as the 11th team for the 2026 season in March 2025. Cadillac paid a big entry fee and agreed to race with Ferrari engines until they build their own by 2029. This makes Cadillac the first new team to join F1 since Haas in 2016.

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team 2026 car has a black and white uneven style design that looks very bold and different on track. Team owner TWG is shown on the sidepods. Swedish tech company IFS appears on the rear wing ends. Jim Beam is placed near the bargeboards. Claro and Telcel logos are also on the car. Tommy Hilfiger and Gainbridge appear on the nose, along with Pirelli. The team uses Ferrari engines, and drivers are Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
Cadillac F1 Team 2026 Debut Schedule
The Cadillac Formula 1 Team will officially join Formula 1 in 2026 as the 11th team on the grid. Their first race will be at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne from March 6 to 8, 2026. The car uses a two-sided black and white livery, which makes it easy to recognize. The drivers are Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas. The team will race in every round of the 2026 season.
