Taylor Fritz is the second seed in the tournament and comes following a quarterfinal loss to Spain’s Davidovich Fokina. The American has been consistent on the hard courts. He has ten ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2022 Indian Wells Open, and contested the finals of the 2024 US Open and the 2024 ATP Finals.
Fritz had a remarkable run at the 2025 Wimbledon reaching the semifinals, where he lost to defending champion Alcaraz.

Ben Shelton
Ben Shelton, known for his energy and youthful demeanor on the court, is another favorite to win the tournament. The world number seven reached the semifinals at Washington Open recently and would be looking to upgrade his performance in Toronto.
The American delivered a strong showing at the Wimbledon reaching the quarterfinals where he lost to the eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
Alex de Minaur
Fresh off from winning the DC Open title, Alex de Minaur will look to repeat the performance in Toronto as well. The Aussie will hope to carry the winning momentum at the Canadian Open.
Following the title win in Washington, de Minaur broke into Top 10 in world ranking. Out of the 10 ATP titles he has won so far, eight have come on hard courts.
